Designing the products that help make the world work

What makes a product a worldwide success? What makes furniture look as good as it feels? What turns an interior from just a space to a statement? Or a car from a piece of metal to an extension of your body?

One single creative thought is all that's needed.

Your sketch pad will become your closest companion throughout this course in which those single thoughts are developed into models, prototypes or finished products.

The course places great emphasis on the development of a range of graphic skills, drawing & sketching both chart your evolving and growing awareness, and records your unique response to a design.

You will be introduced to materials - from wood and metal to plastics and even newspaper - as well as machinery skills and techniques, in a large and well-lit workshop. There is often considerable crossover with other disciplines.

You will work to a brief and be expected to identify and answer a need.
